About NorthCast

NorthCast was conceived by the NorthCrew mid-2007, over a pint or two at one of the regular local gatherings (local being Leeds were we all live and work).

Filling a Void

To ourselves we had highlighted a need in the north of England. A method of promoting websites, people, products and services, with an archive of interviews, event coverage, presentations, news, the list just goes on.

We discussed this need with fellow designers and developers who all agreed that the northern community of web related professionals is minimal at best compared to the south.

From Idea to Reality

After much deliberation, plenty more pints, and a rapidly growing idea, a temporary version of NorthCast was unleashed upon the community in December 2007 to great response.

Officially launching in January 2008 NorthCast now aims to be "thee" podcast of the northern community. Making web professionals aware of what's going on in their area.

NorthCast is a community driven podcast about the community, and we the NorthCrew hope it will continue to be well received.
